Rebecca Teem has sung largely in the Atlanta, Georgia and surrounding areas in productions of Merry Wives of Windsor, Otto Nicolai, Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, and Suor Angelica, Gian Carlo Menotti’s The Consul, and The Medium, as well as Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, as well as many concert and Gala engagements including the winter 99 Northern Italian concert tour with Capitol City Opera of Atlanta, Ga. She has also sung in the Merry Wives of Windsor with Brevard Music Center Summer Opera Workshop in Brevard North Carolina, and in Verdi’s Il Trovatore with Huntsville Opera Theater in Huntsville Alabama.
Miss Teem has also appeared with the Walton County Symphony Orchestra of Georgia as a Soloist in Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, as well with the Capitol City Chamber Players performing Argento’s Letters of the Composers and Two Songs for Contralto and Viola by Brahms.
Miss Teem was a Metropolitan Opera National Council Young Artists, Regional Finalist, and a third Place Winner of the Opera Birmingham Vocal Competition, and has her MUBA from Kennesaw State University where she was a Member of Sigma Alpha Iota.
In June 2004 Miss Teem SANG HER FIRST PERFORMANCE IN New York City with Opera Dramatica NYC, in their performance ot Verdi’s Don Carlo. She followed this with well received performances of Tosca with the New York opera Forum, Other roles premiered with the New York Opera Forum in concert study venues are the title roles in Verdi’s Aida and Richard Strauss’s Elektra.
With well received recital performances of extended scenes of Tosca and Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana and Wagner’s Wesendonck-Lieder in Atlanta, Rebecca’s schedule continues to fill out.
Ms Teem had her first outing with Brünnhilde in a concert performance of the first act of Wagner’s Götterdämmerung in February of 2007. This was followed by a much lauded concert performance of the Third act of Wagner’s Siegfried with the Wagner Society of Washington D.C. and the University of Maryland Symphony Orchesrta.
After a successful audition tour Ms Teem will be singing Brünnhilde in Die Walküre, Siegfried, and Götterdämmerung in Lübeck Germany, to be performed in consecutive seasons beginning in September 2008.
